May 24th

We reviewed our final tests and turned in our Book Projects.

If you didn't turn the book project in:
-You can turn it in by 3 pm today for full credit
-You can e-mail it by tonight proving you had it done today and then bring me a printed copy by next Tuesday for full credit
-You can turn it in by Wednesday for late points (the highest you can get is a 70/100)

May 22nd

Journal Entry: Why is having a large population a problem for countries like China?

We turned in our Journal Entry Logs (even though there were only 5 boxes filled) and our Asia Class Notes Packet.

We took the Final Test!  You are done!  If you were absent, then you must make this test up by Friday, May 24th.

Remember:
-If you have not turned your textbook in, you must turn it in NOW! or face a fine.
-All work from Term 4 must be turned in by May 24th.
-Book Projects are due on May 24th

We spent all of class reviewing for the final.  Come prepared for the final on Wednesday.

We handed out the Final Map Study Guide (this will help you prepare for studying which countries belong to which region).

May 16th

Quiz today!  Don't write anything in your Journal Entry Log.

We turned in our Asia Day in a Life Project.

Today we wrote the following 5 points on the back of your North Korean Notes:

We then learned about South Asia, taking notes on our South Asia: India and Hinduism Notes.  We used the South Asia PPT for these notes.

We then watched the first twenty minutes of Gandhi.  You can come to class at lunch or after school to view this video or you can find it on Netflix.  For extra credit, students can watch after 20 minutes in the video and answer the rest of the movie questions.

-If you have a C or below, you can come talk to me about your grade by MAY 17th and receive 5 points of extra credit.

We finished our Inside North Korea Movie. If you missed this, you will need to come in and view the movie at lunch or after school.   You can also find the video on Netflix.

Journal Entry: Why are boys being kidnapped and girls being abandoned in China?  What about China's culture and economics is making this problem happen?

We watched a movie by National Geographic called Inside North Korea and filled in our Inside North Korea Worksheet.  If you were absent: you can find this video on Netflix and watch it at home OR you can come in at lunch or after school to watch the video in my classroom.

Homework:
-Study for the Asia Map Test, which is next class (Tuesday)!!

May 8th

Journal Entry: Name 2 countries that are in East Asia, 2 countries that are in SE Asia and 2 that are in South Asia.

We turned in our 4th Journal Entry Log.

Reminder: Your Book Report Project is due in 2 1/2 weeks (May 24th)!!!  If you have not yet started a book then you will need to start as soon as possible!!  See me if you're having any troubles.

We finished our East Asia Culture Notes from last class and then took notes on our Population Notes.  You can use this Population PPT to help you fill in your notes and then click on the Population Problems in China Article to fill in the rest of your Population Notes.

-Bring your textbook to class next time to turn in!! You will get 5 points of extra credit.
