Current Event on Africa

Today I showed the following clip from CNN during 3rd period.  UNICEF (the section of the UN that focuses on helping children throughout the world) is making today, April 4th, 2012, a day to raise awareness of the food crisis in the Sahel portion of Africa.

 

I think it would be fun for you to visit the UNICEF website (just click here for the link), watch the movie about the food crisis (it's under 2 minutes long) and see if this is something you think would be a good idea for Africa ("An African solution for Africans).  You could even participate in the effort by using your own social media tools if you would like.

Again, I am sharing this as an attempt to make you support a particular organization but more as an opportunity for you to see "movement of ideas" going on right now about an African issue.
