Welcome to Geography!

I was very excited to meet you all yesterday for Freshmen Academy.  Thank you for coming and participating in our short little class time.  I am looking forward to getting to know you better this coming semester.

The purpose of this blog for our Fall 2012 semester together is to help you (and your parents) stay up-to-date on what we are doing in class.

You will want to look at this blog regularly because I will post:

  • Links to project instructions and assignments given in class
  • Daily posts about what we did that day in class (and reminders of your homework!)
  • PowerPoints used in class
  • Test Review Help
  • And lots of other fun things!
Every so often, you will be asked to leave a comment on the blog either for an assignment or for extra credit.  You will receive points for your comments.

I hope (and kindly insist) that you come back and visit this blog often!

Your first assignment in our class will be to leave a comment on this post.  Your comment needs to answer the following question:

"Do you prefer to study about physical geography (plate tectonics, climate, water cycle, earth's rotation, seasons) or cultural geography (different people's language, religion, education, economics, way of life)?  Using two or more sentences, explain your choice."

*If you are having any troubles leaving your comment, please e-mail me (carolinem@provo.edu) with your comment.
