Day 10 and Intro to Latin American (Feb 10/13)

We started class with an excellent movie about Brazil.  (Jordan Torres, a student at Timpview and who is from Brazil, made this video just for our class.)

Journal Entry: "What did you notice about Brazil's physical geography and cultural geography?  Name two things for both physical and cultural."

Corrected our Unit 1 Test.  (See me for info on Test Corrections.)

Corrected our Latin America Pre-Test & practiced for our Name Test (Name Test has been pushed back to allow us to practice more.)

Handed out Unit 2 Plan

Introduced projects for Latin America: Current Events Project and Theme Project.
       -Both projects are due on February 23/24.
       -Each person was assigned a country in class.  Use this country for both your CE and Theme.

Ended class with "Create Your Own Country" Assignment.
       -Turn in "Rule Book" at the beginning of next class (Feb. 14/15).
       -Your group will begin abiding by your "Rule Book" on next class (meaning you should have your leader chosen, some kind of food brought for your group, etc.).

-Read the "History and Government" section on pages 218-219, pages 223-224 and pages 229-231.
(You no longer have guided reading notes.  If you chose to take your own notes, you can use these on the quiz, but the notes will not be collected for points.)
